An update on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½A Chancellor search
January 22, 2021
At the start of the Spring semester, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Interim President Pitney provided the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ community with an update on the search for a Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Anchorage chancellor. The search will be national in scope and it is Pitney's intent to "hire a chancellor who is deeply committed to and interested in the future of Alaska," she said. It is expected that Pitney will make this appointment no later than the end of April, with the new chancellor starting over the summer.

As the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ continues to pursue budget stability and deal with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to share with you that the Board of Regents decided at its January 15 meeting to postpone the search for the next president until spring 2022 and extend President Pat Pitney's contract until the next president is named.
