Gretchen Gordon named KÂé¶¹´«Ã½C general manager
July 18, 2020
Gretchen Gordon has been chosen to serve as KÂé¶¹´«Ã½C's next general manager. Gordon has worked for KÂé¶¹´«Ã½C TV 9/FM 89.9 since 2003, first as director of development and outreach, then as assistant general manager in 2011.

Eckert appointed Alaska Sea Grant director

Ginny L. Eckert was appointed director for Alaska Sea Grant earlier this month by Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Anupma Prakash. Eckert served as acting and interim director of Alaska Sea Grant from 2019 to 2020 and as associate director of Alaska Sea Grant from 2013 to 2019.

Raymond Weber appointed interim dean of Âé¶¹´«Ã½A Community & Technical College

Following an internal search process, Dr. Raymond Weber, Aviation Technology faculty member, has agreed to step into the role of interim dean for Âé¶¹´«Ã½A Community & Technical College (CTC). Ray will serve for two years and we will conduct a national search for the permanent dean in academic year 2021-2022.

Maren Haavig appointed interim vice provost for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Southeast

Dr. Maren Haavig has been appointed Interim Vice Provost for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Southeast (Âé¶¹´«Ã½S). Haavig has also served as Associate Dean for the School of Arts and Sciences. She continues as Associate Professor of Accounting. As Interim Vice Provost, she will provide academic leadership in support of the university's mission and core themes, promote academic innovation and creativity, and work collaboratively to implement shared governance practices.

Romee McAdams joins Âé¶¹´«Ã½S as Coordinator for Equity and Compliance

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Southeast (Âé¶¹´«Ã½S) is pleased to announce the appointment of Romee McAdams as its new Coordinator for Equity and Compliance. She began working for Âé¶¹´«Ã½S on June 8. Her responsibilities at Âé¶¹´«Ã½S include Title IX, Equal Employment Opportunity issues, the American Disabilities Act/504 requirements, and Clery Act compliance. She comes to Âé¶¹´«Ã½S from Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) where she has worked for many years in human resources, planning & development, operations and behavioral health.
