Dannielle Carlson hired as Âé¶¹´«Ã½S Alaska Native Student Success Specialist

Dannielle Carlson, Âé¶¹´«Ã½S alumni class of 2017 and Rural Admissions Counselor for Âé¶¹´«Ã½S is assuming a new position at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Southeast. In her new role, Carlson will engage with students, counselors and advisors, and communities with a focus on Alaska Native student success.

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Board of Regents voted at its Feb. 25 meeting to appoint Pat Pitney as the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ System's 17th president, removing "interim" from her title. The decision was unanimous, highlighting the board's recognition of President Pitney's leadership and contribution to the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ System.

IASC Medal 2022 Awarded to Âé¶¹´«Ã½A Professor Dalee Sambo Dorough

The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) awards the 2022 IASC Medal to Professor Dalee Sambo Dorough, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Anchorage and Chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Council, for outstanding achievements in advocacy for the rights of Indigenous peoples, her service to a wide range of arctic communities, including the Arctic Council, and her influence as a legal scholar.
