Arctic Encounter Symposium to feature Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Research & Leadership

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ is proud to be a co-host of the Arctic Encounter Symposium (AES) in Anchorage later this month. AES is the largest annual Arctic policy event in the United States, and aims to confront the shared interests and concerns of the United States and the global community on current and future Arctic issues.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½ research and leadership will be on full display during the March 29-31 symposium as a large number of panelists and speakers are Âé¶¹´«Ã½ affiliated, including:
- Diane Hirshberg, Âé¶¹´«Ã½A Director of Institute of Social & Economic Research,
- Brett Watson, from ISER at Âé¶¹´«Ã½A,
- Dean Bill Schnabel from Âé¶¹´«Ã½F’s College of Engineering and Mines,
- Nettie La Belle-Hamer, Âé¶¹´«Ã½F Vice Chancellor for Research,
- Michele Yatchmeneff, Âé¶¹´«Ã½A Alaska Native Education & Outreach Executive Director,
- Charlene Stern, Âé¶¹´«Ã½F Vice Chancellor for Rural, Community, and Native Education,
- Gwen Holdmann, Âé¶¹´«Ã½F Assoc. Vice Chancellor for Research, and
- Justin Sternberg, Director of Âé¶¹´«Ã½F’s Blue Economy Center
President Pitney will give a keynote address, and Âé¶¹´«Ã½ will also host a panel discussion on developing critical minerals.
