Nickole Conley appointed Interim Chief Human Resources Officer

July 11, 2025

President Pat Pitney has appointed Â鶹´«Ã½F Chief of Staff Nickole Conley as the Â鶹´«Ã½ system’s interim Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective July 21, 2025. Nickole will continue to be based in Fairbanks, but will also spend time in Anchorage and Juneau to support university leadership throughout her interim appointment.

Nickole began her career at Â鶹´«Ã½F in 2003 and has served as Chief of Staff since 2018. Her roles prior to that include time as the chief financial officer for Â鶹´«Ã½F’s College of Engineering and Mines, and deputy operations director at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP). Nickole brings extensive experience in both human resources and finance, and has played a key role in several university-wide initiatives, including strategic planning and advancing Â鶹´«Ã½F’s R1 research designation. She also established the Signers Business Office—a shared services unit that supports campus-wide functions in fiscal and grant management, procurement, and HR. Conley was appointed as Â鶹´«Ã½F’s executive officer by Â鶹´«Ã½F Chancellor Daniel M. White in October 2018, and her title was changed to chief of staff in August 2022.

Nickole will be taking over the new role from outgoing CHRO Memry Dahl, who has served as CHRO since 2022.
