Advanced Security Awareness Program (ASAP) Updates and June Raffle Winner

July 11, 2025

With the end of June, the Advanced Security Awareness Program (ASAP) has now completed its first quarter. A lot has happened over the past three months! We rolled out the Phish Alert Button (PAB) to all participants to report malicious emails faster than ever. We finished our first training campaign on phishing and social engineering. We even got some practical experience analyzing real phishing emails from bad actors in our first phishing test! This quarter, we’ll be learning about how to recognize and avoid dangerous QR codes. What evil plans will the Cyber Heroes foil next? Stay tuned to find out!

This month’s newsletter raffle winner is Michelle Pope from the Enterprise Applications team at Â鶹´«Ã½ OIT! You went the extra mile to learn more about advanced phishing techniques and AI-powered cyberattacks. Your efforts to increase cybersecurity at Â鶹´«Ã½ help protect your community from bad actors. That makes you a true Cyber Hero!

If you’re not currently participating in ASAP, but would like to, it’s not too late! Submit your enrollment request at. If you’re signing up for yourself, it’s only two questions and takes less than a minute to complete. Managers can use the same form to sign their entire department up for participation. Learn skills that help protect you and our community from cyber threats at work and at home (and have fun doing it!).
